Weaving Connections That Are Interwoven and Unbreakable

I'm grateful for having the opportunity of traveling back home to Guatemala this summer!

The ability to reconnect and nurture the special bond with dear artisans I have been working with for a while was a tremendous gift. We had a magical time co-creating and redesigning a product especially for laptops.

Walking this journey, I connected to other new weaving groups of artisan women in the highland communities.

Most heartwarming and inspirational yet, was the start of weaving a thread of empowerment through education for girls with brave and smart 13 year old Lesly from the highlands in Quetzaltenango.

Closing the journey was with a loving embrace from childhood friends and family!

“Relationships between our ethnic communities are generally good but we need to continue weaving connections to the point where they are interwoven and unbreakable.”
